    My 2012 Genesis 5.0 takes 5w-20 on the oil cap. In the owners manual it says you can use 5w-30 in the exact same temperatures. The 20 is for better gas mileage

    That filter was not put in right tab sticking out of filter go in slot on transmission

  • @TheWcr84
    @TheWcr84 14 днів тому

    5w-20 and 5W-30 flow basically at the same viscosity cold. It’s when the engine heats up to temp that you see the real viscous difference in the oils. So basically you could run this year around at 5-30 unless the temp is getting into single digits or lower.

    Wonder if you will see this comment posted five years later... Another vote for 5w-30. Have not seen the video yet, but that's my choice. When I bought my S197 Coyote (GT), I was skeptical of 5w-20. I know, we keep heating about tighter tolerances and that kind of thing, but is that real? I looked up the main bearing clearance spec for my Coyote engine, and it was exactly the same as the spec on my much older pushrod 302. I don't know what the rest of the clearances are, but the mains are the ones I am thinking about when I ponder oil viscosity. On top of that, the Mustangs with the track pack specify 5w-50 oil with the same exact engine that my GT has. I live in a very hot climate, FWIW. The "engineering explained" guy said three times to use what the manufacturer recommends, but I do not agree. Ford's goal is to eke out every bit of MPG to reduce their CAFE fines (which are so unrealistically high that any non hybrid is going to be contributing to fines) while maintaining "acceptable" engine wear. My goal is to reduce engine wear as much as possible. While a half a MPG gain times many thousands of cars means more money for the automaker, I'm never even going to notice that. As far as any given automaker is concerned, if it makes it past the warranty, that's acceptable engine wear. Sure, they prefer to have higher resale value to use as a selling point, but most people never think about that when they are buying a new car. CAFE standards should not exist, IMO. Let the market decide. Rules like CAFE always end up with perverse incentives, like how CAFE drove small pickups out of the market completely. Would a small pickup (like the size of the 90s Rangers) get better mileage than an F150? Certainly. But you can't get one because of the fuel economy rules!

    I have a 2004 ford expedition.. I just got an alignment done so on my way home and jumped on the highway and when I hit 80 my truck started wobbling. Let go of the gas, of course and slowly pumped my brakes and hazard lights on & got off the highway. I was wondering why it wobbles wobbles

    I tried this with WD40 but it caused the inlet to get stuck halfway open. Now the gas pump nozzle won't fit. The spring hinge must've been going bad. I'm getting a quote for the fuel fill neck replacement tomorrow.
